22 Engine Tanker

Introducing 22Engine/Tanker (22ET) our combination 1500 gpm engine with a 2000 gallon capacity tank. You might remember last month we highlighted 22Engine/Rescue….from the outside they are similar but very different. The passenger side has a large compartment that electrically opens to access a 2500 gallon portable tank to dump water into. Our second set of hydraulically operated rescue tools are carried on this vehicle consisting of a Genesis Cutter, Spreader, and Ram. This vehicle carries 1000 feet of 5 inch large diameter hose as well as 1000 feet of 3″ supply line. It carries a compliment of ground ladders, 10′, 14′, and 35″. The vehicle carries 5 sets of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and an assortment of firefighting hand tools. On any reported structure fire in our area, 22ET follows directly behind 22ER providing water and manpower. 22ET was purchased in 2017. The chassis and cab were purchased from Spartan Motors. The body and compartments were purchased from Spencer Manufacturing. The entire vehicle was made in Michigan. This vehicle replaced a 1994 Chevrolet/Kodiak 2000 gallon tanker that had a 300 gpm pump. The cost of the truck, not including all the equipment that it carries, was $ 447,407.00
